The family of the actress Allwell Ademola has announced the burial plans following her death.
The statement was released publicly through a press release shared on social media by her colleagues Rotimi Salami and Biola Adebayo.
According to the statement, activities will begin on Thursday, January 8, with a service of songs and a candlenight procession.
The statement read:
“Here is the program for the service of songs and candle night procession on Thursday, January 8, 2026: Service of Songs: 4:00pm – 6:00pm
“Candle Night preparation starts immediately after service of songs
“Candle Night Procession: 6:00pm – 7:00pm (LTV 8 to Oregun Junction and back to LTV) – 1 hour
“Artiste night follows immediately
“Closing remark at 11:00pm
“Friday, January 9, 2026: Burial service at Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos, by (10:00am)
“After the burial, we depart from the venue to our various homes.
“Thank you all for your unwavering support and commitment!”
Further details were also shared in an accompanying Instagram caption, which stated:
“THE BURIAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE LATE ALLWELL ADEMOLA.
“On Thursday, a customised white t-shirt shall be provided at the venue or you come wearing a white shirt on jeans.
“On Friday, the colour code is white. Thank you everyone 🙏”
Allwell Ademola died on December 27, 2025, at the age of 49, following a sudden health challenge at her home in Lagos.
She was an actress, producer and singer who featured in numerous English and Yoruba films over a career that spanned several decades. Her death has continued to draw tributes from colleagues and fans across the Nigerian film industry.
