Nightlife promoter Yhemolee has commented on the controversy surrounding TikToker Mirabel and the discussion on rape allegations.
In a social media post on Thursday, Yhemolee wrote: “False ra.pe accusation is as evil as ra.pe itself. As we continue to protect our women from abusers, we should also protect our men from accusers. It’s mentally draining and exhausting for men to go through such.”
The comments follow a video by Mirabel (@mirab351) in which she claimed she was sexually assaulted at her residence on February 15. The video went viral, sparking campaigns under #StopRapingWomen. The Lagos Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency confirmed she was discharged from hospital and forwarded information to authorities in Ogun State, where police began an inquiry.
Social media reports suggested inconsistencies in her story, with claims that she refused medical and forensic examinations and had been detained for giving false information. However, the Ogun State Police Command denied arresting her. A police spokesperson said she voluntarily came to the station and was taken to hospital because she was not stable for a formal interview.
Mirabel became known online after sharing her alleged assault experience, gaining support from users advocating justice and protection for survivors.
