Actress and skit maker Omotunde Sogunle, popularly known as Motunde, has addressed rumours that she once got pregnant for comedian Mr Macaroni and terminated the pregnancy.
In an interview with Oyinmomo, the actress said she was left devastated when the claims surfaced.
“They said I got pregnant for my on-screen daddy – Mr. Macaroni – and that I aborted the pregnancy. I was shocked. When did that happen? It is not possible. Must there be such a thing between people in a working relationship? I was really devastated then,” she said.
Motunde, who often plays Macaroni’s daughter in his skits, added that she has since learned to ignore false claims, a lesson she picked from the comedian himself.
“One of the things I have learned from Mr. Macaroni is to keep your silence for your own peace. The more you come out to counter false claims, the longer the matter drags and you will have to keep explaining,” she said.
Motunde rose to fame through Mr Macaroni’s comedy series and has since become one of the fast-rising faces in Nigerian skit making.
Mr Macaroni, born Debo Adedayo, is also a prominent activist who has used his platform to speak on social issues. He remains one of the most popular content creators in Nigeria.
