Actress Faithia Williams broke down in tears as her son consoled her during the wake-keep held for her mother on Friday.
The wake-keep took place in Ikorodu, Lagos.
A video from the gathering showed the actress in tears while seated as her son comforts her during the solemn moment as family and friends looked on.
The wake-keep was part of the burial activities organised by the family for the late matriarch.
Faithia had earlier announced the death of her mother in February. She revealed that the news of her passing was kept from her until after her 55th birthday celebration.
Friends, colleagues and well wishers gathered at the wake keep to sympathise with the actress and her family. Several Nollywood figures have also sent condolence messages since she announced the death.
Faithia is a prominent figure in the Yoruba film industry. She began acting in the late 1990s and has since featured in numerous films as both an actress and producer.
She was previously married to actor Saidi Balogun. Their marriage produced two children before the couple separated. Despite the divorce, both actors have maintained a cordial relationship, especially in matters concerning their children.
The burial activities for the late matriarch continued on Saturday with interment, while a thanksgiving service is expected to hold on Sunday.
