Actress Etinosa Idemudia has opened up on being mocked online over symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

In an Instagram post, the 40-year-old said she was trolled for her body fat and facial hair but later discovered they were symptoms of the condition.

“A lady came to troll me talking about visceral fat. I didn’t get angry, I googled it and found out it is from a female targeted medical condition called PCOS,” she wrote.

“I discussed with my Gynae on how to manage this because PCOS has no cure, you only manage its symptoms.

“I’m writing this to every woman out there with PCOS to tell you that you are not alone. Even if it’s your husband that is mocking you or strangers online, you will overcome.

“I carried my baby and you will carry your baby. That facial hair or stubborn fat does not make you any less. You are beautiful and you are enough.”

The actress said she later underwent surgery to reduce body fat after being constantly bullied for her looks.

In an earlier interview, Etinosa revealed that the mockery pushed her into surgery, describing it as a way to regain confidence.

“I have been constantly bullied and mocked for my stomach. My fat is largely caused by PCOS, but many people don’t know,” she said.

Etinosa, who battled PCOS for about seven years before having her daughter, advised women struggling to conceive not to lose hope.

Born in Edo State, the actress studied Computer Engineering at Covenant University before venturing into entertainment. She is known for her roles in Blood of Enogie and Dear Sister.
