Actress Annie Idibia has stirred social media after sharing cryptic messages, following a video showing her estranged husband, singer 2Baba, in a public altercation in London went viral.
Though she did not mention any names, fans believe her posts relate to her separation from the singer and his new relationship with Natasha Osawaru.
In her posts, Annie wrote: “Sometimes trying to prove you are the best is an insult.” “Wouldn’t it be easier if you left your past behind.” “The power of stepping away.”
Some posts featured matchsticks with one pulled away from the rest, a symbol of walking away before getting burned.
2Baba and Annie separated in January 2025 after 12 years of marriage. He announced their divorce on social media but later deleted the posts, claiming his account was hacked. He confirmed the split in a video and soon moved on with Natasha, describing her as “a young, brilliant and amazing woman” and insisting she “has nothing to do with what’s happening between me and Annie.”
Annie returned under her maiden name, Annie Macaulay, thanking fans for their support.
The drama escalated when 2Baba’s former manager, Kaka Igbokwe, confirmed the London video was real. He said the incident happened after Natasha reportedly became upset when 2Baba went off with fans. Igbokwe also alleged Natasha has been violent toward 2Baba and controlling over his finances. The live broadcast ended abruptly amid shouting, believed to involve 2Baba and Natasha.
Fans believe Annie’s posts reflect healing and self-preservation, or subtle warnings about the turmoil around 2Baba and Natasha. She also hinted at her daughter’s future: “I hope my daughter doesn’t accept things I accepted, that she knows her worth from the start.”
