Sunday Osunmakinde, father of the Senior Pastor of Envoy Nation Church, Dele Osunmakinde, has died at the age of 80.
Pastor Osunmakinde announced his father’s death in a statement shared on his social media platforms on Friday.
He said the octogenarian died peacefully on New Year’s Day, January 1.
According to the cleric, the family is grateful to God for what he described as a life well lived and is comforted by the assurance of his father’s rest in the Lord.
“With gratitude to God, I announce the peaceful transition of my father to glory on Wednesday, 1st January, at the age of 80. We celebrate a life well lived and take comfort in the assurance of his rest in the Lord,” the statement read.
He also appealed for prayers and support for the family during the period of mourning.
“Kindly stand with us as a family in prayers of thanksgiving, strength, and grace in this season. Thank you for your love and support,” he added.
Osunmakinde noted that details of the funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
Dele Osunmakinde is the Senior Pastor of Envoy Nation Church, a Christian ministry based in Lagos with a growing congregation.
Sunday Osunmakinde is survived by his children and grandchildren.
