Fuji legend Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as Kwam 1 or K1 De Ultimate, has dismissed speculations suggesting he is having issues with his wife Emmanuella Ropo or planning to return to his ex-wife, Titilola ‘Titi’ Marshal.
The 68-year-old addressed the rumours in an interview, stating emphatically that he is still happily married to Emmanuella and has no intention of remarrying.
“Emmanuella remains my wife,” Kwam 1 clarified.
“I do not have any problem with Emmanuella. The only problem in a relationship is kind of maybe what rules you are trying to put up.”
Social media had been abuzz with claims that the singer was set to reconcile with Titi, whom he reportedly reunited with during his mother’s burial months ago in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. There were also speculations that Emmanuella had moved out due to tensions in the marriage.
However, Kwam 1 explained that he merely advised Emmanuella to take a step back from social media to focus on more productive endeavours.
“I told my wife to take all things easy, face business; leave social media,” he said. “In the end the joy will be for us. I guess maybe she did not like it that way. She has every right to her own reaction.”
The music icon revealed that his attention is currently consumed by a large resort construction project.
“I am busy with the construction of my resort. It is huge. I went to hide my head so that I could concentrate and not have anything diverting my attention. Somebody cannot be in such a project and be distracted,” he said.
“What is ahead of me is huge than to be considering just marriage. I will send you some of the project I am doing here. It is very huge. It takes up 90% of my funds. I am now into business big time aside music.”
Addressing speculations of rekindling his relationship with Titi, whom he married in 2018, the singer stated that their union has ended permanently.
“Titi Marshal is gone forever, but because she is gone, should I shut my eyes out on the three children she gave birth to for me? I did not do anything, I only concentrated on my project.”
He continued, “Must I marry everyone? The lady is not my wife and I have not married a new wife.”
K1 and Titi tied the knot in a private Islamic ceremony in March 2018, but their marriage reportedly hit the rocks before he went on to marry Emmanuella in 2021 at a colourful ceremony in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The singer has had several publicised relationships over the years, but maintains that he is currently focused on expanding his business empire, including farming and hospitality and not on taking a new wife.
“Unfortunately, I am not getting younger anymore. I am 68 already. Do I need to fool myself?” he asked rhetorically.
“You are not young anymore, you have two grown-ups in the University, the third one is about to join them. These are the issues we need to ponder over, not social media things.”
