Eko Electricity Distribution Company has appointed Wola Joseph-Condotti as interim chief executive officer following a change in its board, as Transgrid Enerco takes over the company.
The company announced on Wednesday that the previous board, appointed by former majority shareholder West Power and Gas Limited and led by chairman Dere Otubu, had resigned. This cleared the way for a new board chaired by Engr. Olubunmi Peters.
Other members of the new board are Prof. George Nwangwu, Faruk Aliyu, Kolapo Joseph and Rasheed Olaoluwa, while Ayo Gbeleyi remains the director representing the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE).
In a statement signed by Babatunde Lasaki, general manager, corporate communications and strategy, the company said Rekhiat Momoh has stepped down from her role as chief executive officer.
The statement said the new board subsequently appointed Joseph-Condotti as interim CEO with immediate effect.
Mrs Momoh was appointed interim CEO in 2024 following the removal of her predecessor, Tinuade Sanda, and was confirmed as substantive chief executive officer in November 2025.
The company said her tenure was marked by contributions to operational development and service delivery across its franchise areas.
“The Board extends its appreciation for her dedicated service and leadership during her time at the helm of the organization,” the statement said.
Commenting on her exit, Peters said, “We thank Rekhiat Momoh for her commitment to EKEDP and her efforts in advancing our mission to provide reliable electricity distribution services to our customers. We wish her well in her future endeavours.”
Joseph-Condotti has previously served as group managing director and chief executive officer of West Power and Gas Limited, the former parent company of Eko Electricity, a role she stepped down from to take up the new appointment.
She had earlier worked at the company as pioneer chief, legal and company secretariat, and also held roles including head of regulatory compliance and chief human resources and administration officer.
Speaking on her appointment, she said, “I am honored to serve as acting CEO during this period. EKEDP has a talented team, and I look forward to working together to continue our progress in delivering quality electricity distribution services to homes and businesses across our coverage area.”
Peters said the board was confident in the appointment, adding, “We are confident that we have made the right choice in Wola’s appointment. In selecting our interim CEO, we were particularly mindful to identify outstanding professionals with complementary and mutually reinforcing skill sets.”
The board said the leadership change was aimed at ensuring stability and continuity, noting that the company remains focused on executing its strategic priorities and improving outcomes for customers and employees.
