Content creator Egungun of Lagos, whose real name is Kuye Adegoke, has reacted after coming under criticism for his brief interview with US streamer IShowSpeed during the streamer’s visit to Lagos.
The interview, which circulated widely online, showed Egungun speaking briefly with IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr.
In the clip, Egungun asked about the streamer’s age, to which IShowSpeed replied, “I’m 21,” to which Egungun responded, “Wooh! You look so strong and healthy.”
Following the backlash, Egungun addressed the criticism on social media, explaining the situation from his point of view. He wrote, “No vex for me, it was tension.”
The encounter happened during IShowSpeed’s public appearance in Lagos, which attracted large crowds and heavy security presence. The visit generated significant attention on social media, with several Nigerian content creators attempting to interact with the streamer amid tight security and limited access.
Reactions to Egungun’s interview were mixed. While some social media users criticised him for what they described as a lack of composure, others defended him, noting the pressure of the moment and the brief opportunity available.
