Actress and producer Efe Irele has celebrated wins recorded by her movie My Mother Is a Witch at the REFFA Awards.
Efe shared photos from the event on Instagram on Tuesday, expressing gratitude for the recognition the film received.
She wrote, “My Mother Is a Witch’ keeps making powerful moves far and wide, oh my heart is so full, I don’t even have words. This weekend was a weekend of wins for me!”
According to her, the film received eight nominations and won three awards. These include Best Supporting Actress for Mercy Aigbe, Achievement in Makeup for Alakpa Uduoghene, and Achievement in Screenplay.
She added, “Thank you so much @reffaawards. Huge congratulations to my queen 👑 @realmercyaigbe you truly are the gift that keeps giving. Congratulations to my amazing partners @_anthillstudios @filmoneng and to the entire cast and crew. This is a win we should all be proud of.”
My Mother Is a Witch was released in Nigerian cinemas on May 23, 2025. The film was written and directed by Niyi Akinmolayan and produced by Anthill Studios in collaboration with FrameFlixHQ, with Irele also serving as an executive producer.
The psychological family drama centres on a fashion editor who returns from London to Benin and confronts unresolved trauma linked to her mother.
Mercy Aigbe stars as the estranged mother, while Efe plays the lead role. Other cast members include Timini Egbuson and Neo Akpofure.
