Esther Idahosa, mother of Edo State Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa, has died at the age of 95.
Her death was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday by the deputy governor’s Chief Press Secretary Friday Aghedo.
According to the statement, Mrs Idahosa died on Wednesday, April 8.
The family, including the Idahosa and Enabulele families from the Ovia South West Local Government Area, described her as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
The statement said she lived a life marked by faith, character and service to her family and community.
“It is with total submission to the will of God that the Idahosa and Enabulele families… announce the peaceful passing of their beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa (née Enabulele),” the statement read.
It added that the family is grateful for her life and the values she left behind.
“The entire Idahosa family expresses gratitude to God for her life and the values she imparted, which will continue to guide generations,” it said.
The family also asked for prayers and understanding during the period of mourning.
Details of the funeral arrangements will be announced later.
