Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye named royal father for Penpushing Media’s 7th anniversary lecture

The Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Abdul-Razaq Adenugba, has accepted the role of father of the day at the 7th edition of the Penpushing Media anniversary lecture scheduled for July 31.

The event, which will take place at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State, will feature prominent voices discussing the theme “Reworking Nigeria’s Federalism, Perspective on Restructuring and Fiscal Federalism.”

Chairperson of the anniversary lecture, Abiola Afolabi, confirmed the monarch’s participation to journalists, adding that Oba Adenugba has also indicated his intention to be physically present at the occasion.

The royal father, while accepting the invitation, praised the Penpushing Media editorial board and planning committee for choosing a timely and thought-provoking topic. He described their foresight as commendable and a notable contribution to national discourse through media engagement.

Oba Adenugba, who holds the title Okokodanomeji II, ascended the throne on May 8, 2004.

His reign has seen significant developments in Ago-Iwoye, particularly in infrastructure and education, most notably with the growth of Olabisi Onabanjo University in the town.

The monarch is widely respected for fostering peaceful coexistence between the academic community and residents by establishing a “town and gown” committee.

He is also known for promoting Yoruba culture and traditions while embracing modern development initiatives.
