Ebuka Songs apologises over viral livestream with TikToker Peller

Gospel singer Ebuka Songs has apologised to his fans and the Christian community following backlash over his livestream with TikTok personality Peller.

The 33-year-old came under heavy criticism after a video of Peller at his house went viral. In the clip, the TikToker was seen speaking in tongues and giving prophecies.

Pastor Kesiena Esiri of the Remnant Christian Network was one of those who strongly condemned the act. Ebuka’s reaction to the pastor’s criticism further sparked outrage and dragged the issue for days online.

In a video shared online, Ebuka tendered an apology.

“To everyone offended by my action, I apologise and my reaction as well, I apologise, that was not my intention,” he said.

Many of his followers praised him for making peace while others urged Pastor Esiri to also apologise.

One wrote, “I knew Ebuka would do the right thing. I knew he has true father’s mentoring him. God bless you bro.”

Another commented, “Let the pastor also apologise for calling you a fake minister.”

One added, “My brother, I love this thing you have done now. God bless and increase your understanding and anointing.”

Another said, “I am happy to see ds n personally I hv forgiven n I also ask God to forgive me as well.”

One wrote, “Pray against pride. May the Lord chisel away every weight of pride in your life. He will continually strengthen you.”

Another reacted, “After all the insults.”

One added, “Now that he have apologized, this wont go viral. People will act like they didn’t see it. May God strengthen you Bro.”

Another said, “Thank you Lord Jesus Christ. We love you so much Ebuka.”

Ebuka Songs became popular in 2021 with his album Midnight Cry. His single ‘I Will Pray’ released in 2023 further shot him into the limelight. The same year, he signed with gospel singer Moses Bliss’ label Spotlite Nation before later moving on as a solo act.

He has since performed at major concerts including The Experience Lagos in December 2024 and has also made headlines for his philanthropic gestures, among them giving his parents gifts and donating N1 million to comedian Akpororo.

Peller, whose real name is Habeeb Hamzat, is a TikTok streamer and content. He won Best Content Creator at the 2024 Trace Awards Africa.
