Some old tweets by media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu have resurfaced on social media, drawing renewed attention amid ongoing conversations surrounding Paystack co-founder Ezra Olubi.

In the tweets from 2010, Ebuka was replying to posts made by an account belonging to Olubi. The exchanges show Ebuka reacting with visible discomfort and disapproval to comments Olubi posted at the time.

One tweet dated 19 March 2010 shows Ebuka responding to an earlier post from Olubi, writing that after reading the tweet and seeing the associated avatar, he had “decided never to shake him again.”

Another tweet from 24 July 2010 shows Ebuka replying to a post in which Olubi asked whether “tickling a cat’s nipples” constituted harassment. Ebuka responded bluntly, calling the remark inappropriate and asking, “What’s wrong with you?”

Olubi has been trending online after many Nigerians began circulating screenshots of his old tweets containing off-colour and sexually suggestive jokes. Some of the posts, dating back more than a decade, have been described as disturbing by those sharing them.

The renewed interest also follows heightened public conversations around Olubi’s conduct. Recent allegations against him have pushed many users to dig up past online behaviour they believe paints a broader picture of his personality.
