Businessman Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-Money, has made a social media post following his release from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
QED.ng earlier reported that the CEO of Emmy Cargoes Nigeria Limited and founder of Five Star Music was picked up from his residence in the Omole area of Lagos on Tuesday.
Sources within the anti-graft agency said E-Money is being investigated for allegedly spraying both naira and US dollars at a lavish party in Lagos, an act considered a violation of Nigeria’s currency regulations.
The arrest sparked backlash on social media, with celebrities like Cubana Chief Priest, VeryDarkMan and Bobrisky openly criticising the commission.
Amid the controversy, E-Money took to Instagram on Tuesday evening to share a photo of himself with the caption: “No tension, Everywhere good, I see all your love and support. God bless you all.”
