Singer Cynthia Morgan has resumed dragging her former record label boss Jude Okoye, while also slamming fellow artiste May D over what she described as an “insensitive” remark.
In a series of Instagram stories, Cynthia accused May D of being unsupportive and dismissive of her experience with Jude Okoye, whom she fell out with after their contract ended in 2017.
“Very insensitive talk @mrmayd,” she wrote.
“I no send you @mrmayd sha no ever call my phone tell me say wetin you go through pass my own. Cause e no get the time wey I take carry you sit down tell you wetin I go through.”
Cynthia, also known as Madrina, claimed May D never reached out to understand her situation but was quick to compare their experiences.
“I no tell you say na me first suffer and I no dey play suffer head. If you wanted to help me, you for helped me genuinely, not start a competition. I supported you genuinely with no hate in my heart.”
She went on to accuse Jude Okoye, the elder brother of Psquare, of sabotaging her music career by rejecting multiple offers and performance gigs while she was signed to his label Northside Entertainment.
“Just double checked that the first money he shared in 2016 was 20 million naira, and then, I went ahead to make an extra 10 million naira that same year, and these returns would have been way more if he wasn’t turning down shows and endorsements,” she claimed.
“@judeengees, I remember the Kasaprenko and Glo endorsement you turned down, the thirty thousand dollar Ugandan show you turned down, and the Ogbe stadium three million naira show Joy turned down.”
“I kept quiet because I didn’t just want to agree I was played by people I thought were humans. Not anymore.”
Cynthia was one of the most prominent female dancehall artistes in Nigeria during her time at Northside Entertainment, rising to fame with hit singles like ‘Don’t Break My Heart’ and ‘German Juice.’
Her sudden disappearance from the spotlight raised questions until 2020 when she went on Instagram Live to reveal her fallout with Jude.
She claimed then that she lost access to her name, social media accounts and royalties after leaving the label.
Jude Okoye, however, denied her claims and insisted that she left on her own terms and still owed him money.
May D, who also had a similar fallout with the Okoyes, had in the past shared his own grievances but appears to now be distancing himself from Cynthia’s approach.
