Film director Kayode Kasum has shared how Timini Egbuson delivered a “standout” performance in their new movie Love and New Notes.

In a post on Instagram on Sunday, Kasum shared a screenshot from the set and reflected on a scene filmed in the early hours after a long day of shooting. He wrote, “This scene was at 4am. We had both been shooting since the morning of the previous day. No sleep… just work.”

He described how the actor remained fully committed despite exhaustion. “Till today, I don’t know how @_timini found the strength for this performance, Somewhere in that exhaustion, he disappeared into someone else completely. It was not Timini talking, it was Boma.”

Kasum added that the moment stayed with him long after filming. “The moment felt so real… so honest that I find myself going back to it at least once a week. And every time I ask the same question: How can someone be that tired and still give everything they have?”

Reflecting on their shared passion for filmmaking, he said, “And it’s something we’ve both said to each other before we do this because we love it.The work, The feeling of becoming. Please watch our film, I know you will love it like we did when we were making it. ❤️”

Love and New Notes premiered in cinemas on February 13. The romantic drama follows characters navigating love, ambition and personal choices, with Timini playing the role of Boma. The film also features Odunlade Adekola, Sophie Alakija, Eniola Badmus, Toluwani George, Ayoola Akinyoola and Tolu Babs Omish.
