Former Big Brother Naija housemate and comedian Aderombi Adedayo, popularly known as DeeOne, has said he will not apologise after being invited by the Nigeria Police Force for what the police described as a routine interview.
DeeOne shared an official invitation letter on his social media account on Thursday. The letter, signed by the Commissioner of Police, Force Intelligence Department (FID), asked him to report to the FID Annex Office in Lagos through the OCCIOS team as part of a fact‑finding inquiry.
The comedian said he believes the invitation may be linked to a video he posted online about President Bola Tinubu during his visit to Turkey, which attracted strong reactions.
Reacting to the development, DeeOne said he stands by his comments and believes he did nothing wrong. He said, “I saw something strange that happened in Turkey involving our President, our dear President, and I shared my views as an ordinary Nigerian. If this invitation is about the video I posted yesterday, I have received many calls and heard different opinions. Some people said DeeOne was cyberbullying, that I should not have mentioned the President’s son or spoken about the President.”
DeeOne also addressed the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, saying he would honour the invitation. He plans to report to the police office on Monday and will update the public on any developments.
In his post, DeeOne emphasised that he was expressing his opinion as a citizen and will not apologise if the invitation is related to his video.
