Actress Debbie Shokoya has expressed gratitude to her colleague Funke Akindele for promoting her newly released movie Scars.
Debbie shared the screenshot on Instagram on Saturday, showing her chat with Funke where she told the award-winning actress that the film was not doing well on YouTube.
She also posted another screenshot showing Funke putting up the movie’s poster on her Instagram story to promote it.
“Help me drop prayers for this amazing woman! @funkejenifaakindele Ma’am, you will never be found wanting!” Debbie wrote.
“I just sat down on the sofa this afternoon and the Lord put it in my heart to DM @funkejenifaakindele. I gathered courage to do so… She replied immediately and was willing to do this for me!
“God bless you my woman. May you never labour in vain! May you not stress before you receive! You poured comforting water on my soul and it means so much to me and my brand. This is actually the least you have done towards me, but I promise not to cast it. God bless you ma! Keep motivating and keep inspiring. Oju oni ti yin lailai.”
Funke, known for her hit films Omo Ghetto: The Saga and A Tribe Called Judah, has a history of helping colleagues and strangers alike.
Content creator and actor Kamo State recently revealed that Funke paid his wife’s hospital bills during pregnancy, provided money for baby items and even bought him an iPhone 16 Pro Max. He said what he shared online was only “one per cent” of what she had done for him and his family.
