Singer Davido has earned a new career milestone as his fourth studio album Timeless has been certified silver in the United Kingdom.
The certification was announced by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), confirming that the album has sold over 60,000 units in the UK.
Timeless, released on March 31, 2023, under Davido Music Worldwide, Columbia and Sony Music, is a 17-track album that explores genres such as amapiano, Afrobeats, dancehall, ragga, konto, highlife, and Afro-pop. It features guest appearances from Asake, Skepta, Dexta Daps, Angelique Kidjo, The Cavemen and Fave.
The album debuted at number 10 on the UK albums chart and has received widespread praise since its release.
It was nominated for Best Global Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards. Two of its songs ‘Feel’ and ‘Unavailable’ also received Grammy nominations for Best Global Music Performance and Best African Music Performance respectively.
Earlier this year, ‘Unavailable’ was certified silver in the UK, marking another success for the hitmaker.
To promote the album, Davido embarked on a Timeless tour across North America and Europe, performing in cities like Washington D.C., New York, Toronto and London.
