Hailey Adeleke, the daughter of singer David Adeleke aka Davido and the singer’s elder brother Adewale Adeleke, has arrived in Miami, United States, ahead of Davido’s wedding to Chioma Rowland this weekend.
Adewale shared photos and videos of the family’s arrival in Miami on his Instagram stories on Tuesday.
He was seen with his wife, children and niece Hailey, whom Davido shares with Amanda, one of his previous partners.
The Adeleke family has begun gathering in the US city for the high-profile white wedding, which Davido earlier confirmed would be held in August.
The ceremony follows their traditional wedding in Lagos in June, which was attended by political and entertainment elites from across the country.
Davido first disclosed the Miami wedding plans in an April interview on The Breakfast Club radio show in the US.
The singer, who shares twins with Chioma, said the event would be private but memorable.
Davido’s uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, also travelled to the US a few days ago to attend the wedding.
His spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, confirmed the governor’s trip on Tuesday after questions were raised over his absence from public functions in Osun.
“Governor Adeleke left Nigeria for the United States via the family’s private jet a few days ago for the wedding of the global music icon, his beloved nephew, David Adeleke,” Rasheed said in a statement.
Rasheed added that the governor had not taken any official vacation since assuming office in November 2022 and intended to make the current trip short.
He assured that the governor remains in close communication with his deputy, Kola Adewusi, who is handling state duties in his absence.
However, the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticised the governor’s unannounced absence.
In a statement issued by spokesperson Kola Olabisi, the party questioned whether Adeleke had properly handed over authority to his deputy before travelling.
Meanwhile, wedding preparations continue in Miami, with close friends, family members and associates.
