Singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has called online claims that he owes $50,000 to an event planner for his wedding “crazy”.
The reports, which circulated over the weekend, suggested that event planner Funke Bucknor-Obruthe had publicly called him out for unpaid services, with some posts including alleged quotes threatening legal action if the balance was not settled within three days.
Bucknor-Obruthe dismissed the reports on Instagram, saying they were “totally false and misleading” and that the quotes did not come from her official account.
“This is my official Instagram handle, I’m seeing a false narrative flying around about Davido that I purportedly posted. All posts online, on Twitter, TikTok, Instagram are totally false and misleading,” she wrote.
Reacting to the controversy, Davido posted on X, describing the claims as “crazy atp (at this point).”
The backlash comes amid other ongoing controversies involving the singer, including renewed attention over a decade-old paternity claim. A 12-year-old girl, identified as Anu Adeleke, recently requested a fresh DNA test to confirm whether Davido is her biological father. Davido has previously said multiple DNA tests have shown “zero probability” of a biological link and has declined to engage further on the matter.
The wedding planning allegation and paternity dispute have kept Davido trending online. He and his wife Chioma Rowland held their wedding in Miami, Florida, in August 2025, following a traditional ceremony in June 2024.
