Former Vice-President of Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), Bishop David Abioye, has revealed plans to shift his ministry, The Hour of Revival’s Sunday services to the morning, starting May 4.
This change comes seven months after his retirement from the church.
The announcement was made during the evening service in Abuja on Sunday, where the congregation responded with resounding praise, shouts and applause in support of the new direction.
“Very important information. From next Sunday, by the grace of God, our service is migrating to morning. Hallelujah. And the time is 8 am. God bless you mightily in Jesus’ name,” Abioye said, eliciting cheers from attendees.
Abioye retired alongside Bishop Thomas Aremu in October 2024, following a policy change at Living Faith Church that set a mandatory retirement age of 55 for leaders.
At the time, Aremu was 67 and Abioye was 63.
The new policy also introduced a cap on leadership tenures, limiting future leaders to one or two terms of seven years, subject to Board of Trustees approval.
At his retirement service, Abioye emphasised that he would not be starting a new church, having spent years supporting Bishop David Oyedepo in building Winners Chapel.
However, he soon embarked on a non-denominational ministry called Hour of Revival, which was initially held every Sunday evening.
