Dangote Industries Limited has warned the public about individuals falsely claiming to represent the company, its executives, or members of the Dangote family.
In a statement shared on the company’s official X account on Tuesday, the management said it had become aware of “increasing cases of impersonation and fraudulent activities” involving fake investment offers, business proposals, charity solicitations, employment promises and other schemes.
The company clarified that neither Dangote Industries Limited, nor its Group President Aliko Dangote nor any executive, including the Group Executive Director, Commercial Operations (Oil & Gas) nor members of the Dangote family, Fatima, Mariya and Halima Dangote, solicit funds, contracts, or personal information through social media platforms such as WhatsApp, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, or Instagram.
Dangote Industries also noted that the company’s executives do not have Facebook or TikTok accounts and that they do not initiate direct contact with private individuals through social media for financial or business purposes.
The company urged the public to disregard unsolicited messages, calls, or social media accounts claiming affiliation with Dangote Industries or its executives.
All official communications are issued through verified corporate channels and recognised media outlets.
Dangote Industries said it is working with security and law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute individuals involved in the fraudulent activities.
Members of the public who receive suspicious communications were encouraged to report them to the relevant authorities immediately.
