Critics of BBNaija intimacy scenes are hypocrites – Adekunle

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Adekunle Olopade has hit out at critics of intimate moments on the reality show, describing their reactions as hypocritical.

In a series of posts on X on Sunday, Adekunle reminded viewers that the housemates are consenting adults and the show is rated 18.

“The only sin big brother housemates actually commit is coming on the show to entertain you guys. I can’t believe the things I’m seeing on the TL. LOL,” he wrote.

He added, “So, because consenting adults on a RATED 18 show who are clearly attracted to each other get intimate, that’s why you guys are coming up with all these think pieces? The amount of hypocrisy I’ve witnessed from you guys this week alone is very laughable.”

Adekunle also accused viewers of image-shaming and damaging the reputation of housemates.

“What do you guys really think happens when adults are left together in a confined space? Please let’s be real.

“Not one single person in that house has done anything wrong because they’re attracted to someone else. This image shaming, reputation damaging, name calling and things you guys are on, is exactly what is killing the show.

“The gag in all of this is, the people who are pointing fingers and quick to accusations actually do much worse, with multiple people infact, but because it’s not on national tv you think you’re all saints? You all better go to church and ask for forgiveness,” he said.

This comes after clips of housemates Jason Jae and Sultana under the duvet went viral. Other moments involving Koyin and Isabella as well as Mide and Bright Morgan also stirred reactions online.

In August, Adekunle had advised viewers not to focus only on romance in the house, stressing that the show is designed for entertainment.

“You guys aren’t enjoying this show and it sucks… THIS IS AN ENTERTAINMENT SHOW, not a show about love,” he said.
