Corporal kills Uduaghan’s former aide-de-camp

A police corporal on Thursday night in Bauchi shot and killed former aide-de-camp to the Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, Superintendent Chris Eza.

At the time of his death, Eza was Commanding Officer 10, Police Mobil Force (PMF) Bauchi.

This is contained in a statement issued by DSP Haruna Mohammed, the Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, in Bauchi on Friday.

The statement stated that the incident occurred at about 11.30 p.m. on Ahmadu Bello Way, Bauchi.

It did not give the name of the culprit but stated that the late Eza was on “routine visit at a Stop and Search point” when the tragedy occurred.

“On the 26/2/2015 at about 23:20hrs, the Commanding Officer, 10 PMF Bauchi, SP Chris L Eza, was shot by a police corporal while on routine visit at a Stop and Search point along Ahmadu Bello way, Bauchi.”

“Victim was rushed to ATBU Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, where he was certified dead by a Medical Doctor and corpse deposited at the mortuary for postmortem examination.

“Scene was visited by the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Mohammed and his management team.

“Meanwhile, suspect has been arrested and detained, while the Commissioner of Police has ordered a full scale investigation into the matter,” Mohammed said.
