Content creator Esther Louis, widely known as Sunshine, will be laid to rest on Wednesday, January 28, in Lagos.
Her burial comes days after her tragic death earlier this month.
According to a funeral notice shared by her friend and fellow creator Chidera Madu on Tuesday, Sunshine’s body will leave Lagos Island General Hospital, Marina, before being taken to Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos for interment.
Sunshine died on January 9, after a fibroid surgery. Her family confirmed her death in a statement posted on social media.
Sunshine had been suffering severe stomach pain in late December 2025.
Medical tests there revealed a large fibroid, and doctors advised surgery. The operation was initially described as successful, but Sunshine later developed complications that led to her death, her colleagues say.
Sunshine had built a strong presence on social media through her skits, modelling work, brand engagements and video content. She worked with other creators and had a loyal following across platforms.
In the days after her death, some friends publicly appealed for support as they worked to finalise burial plans. They also shared challenges they experienced reaching some members of her extended family.
Friends and fans have continued to share tributes online, remembering her contributions to Nigeria’s digital entertainment space.
