Confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria jump to 288

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 14 new cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.

The agency said in a Twitter thread on Thursday night that of the 14 new cases, 13 are in Lagos while one is in Delta.

“Fourteen new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: 13 in Lagos and 1 in Delta State,” the tweet read.

“As of 09:30 pm 9th April there are 288 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Fifty-one have been discharged with seven deaths.”

Lagos now has 158 confirmed cases altogether while Delta recorded just its second case.
