Comedian and filmmaker Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, has congratulated Abia State Governor Alex Otti on his second anniversary in office.
Governor Otti marked the milestone on Thursday, celebrating two years of leadership.
The event was held with a series of activities showcasing the administration’s achievements.
The celebration drew dignitaries, political associates, entertainers and supporters of the Otti-led administration. Singer Flavour was also present and thrilled the audience with a performance.
The anniversary also featured a landmark lecture where Governor Otti outlined his vision for sustained transformation in the state. He expressed gratitude to the people of Abia and reaffirmed his dedication to building a “New Abia.”
Taking to X on Friday, Basketmouth, who hails from Abia, shared a photo featuring himself, Governor Otti, the first lady of Abia, Priscilla Otti, Flavour and others.
He wrote, “Honoured to join my fellow indigenes of Abia state in celebrating the second anniversary of a new Abia. Surely the next 6 years will witness continued excellence. Congratulations to you @alexottiofr and your amiable wife.”
Earlier in May, Basketmouth and media personality Victoria Eze visited Mr Otti, sparking speculation about a potential collaboration aimed at youth empowerment and cultural development in Abia.
The 46-year-old has been vocal in his support for Governor Otti’s administration. In February 2024, he praised the governor’s performance, contrasting it with previous administrations. He remarked, “I wonder how ALL former Governors of Abia state are feeling now seeing Dr Otti’s current performance. It’s suggesting that the former Governors were not even LGA chairman level.”
