Media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo is set to appear in a cinema released feature film for the first time as part of the cast of the upcoming drama Onobiren: A Woman’s Story.
Best known as the host of the interview series With Chude, Jideonwo’s participation marks a shift from his work in media and documentary storytelling to acting in a narrative film.
The forthcoming drama tells the story of a young woman named Roli who grows up in the riverine Itsekiri communities of Warri, Delta State. The character, played by Ruby Akubueze, leaves home for Lagos where she confronts expectations, challenges and the realities of building a new life.
Directed by Famous Iraoya and written and executive produced by Laju Iren, the film explores themes of womanhood, faith and identity within Nigerian society. The cast also includes Patience Ozokwo, Deyemi Okanlawon, Bisola Aiyeola and Norbert Young.
Jideonwo is the co-founder of RED Media Africa and founder of Joy Inc.
He previously appeared in the 2025 film SIN. His appearance in Onobiren adds to his growing involvement in film alongside his work in media and documentary storytelling.
Onobiren: A Woman’s Story was shot in Warri and Lagos and is the first theatrical release from Laju Iren Films. The production was supported by Africa No Filter and CcHub Creative Economy.
The movie is scheduled to open in cinemas across Nigeria and Ghana on Friday.
