Chris Okafor kneels to apologise over Doris Ogala allegations

General Overseer of Grace Nation Worldwide Pastor Chris Okafor has apologised and asked for forgiveness following allegations made against him by actress Doris Ogala.

In a video shared on Facebook by Ms. Ogala on Sunday, the cleric was seen kneeling before members of his church as he expressed remorse over what he described as mistakes made in the past.

The apology comes after the actress publicly accused the pastor of ending their relationship and marrying another woman despite allegedly promising her marriage.

While disputing many of the allegations, Pastor Okafor said he decided to apologise to anyone who felt offended by his actions.

“I am not joining issues,” he said, referring specifically to Doris Ogala.

“Mistakes have been made in the past, and I tender my apology to everybody. But everything that was said is not true. There are so many lies in most of the things that were said.”

Despite maintaining that the claims were largely untrue, the pastor said he was willing to make amends and offer restitution where necessary.

“To Doris Ogala, I will apologize, and I also apologize to everyone. I am ready to make a restitution to anyone and anybody, any lady, anywhere I’ve offended,” he said.

Okafor also acknowledged his imperfections and appealed to both his congregation and the public for forgiveness and prayers.

He said he had experienced a “new beginning” following the counsel of senior Christian leaders he described as fathers of faith.

“I’m kneeling down before everyone and before the church. Forgive me. You can judge me. Pray for me,” he added.

The apology follows recent public attention surrounding the pastor’s private wedding to his partner, Pearl, in Lekki, Lagos and the legal demand issued by Ogala.

The actress, through her lawyers, had given Chris Okafor 21 days to pay N1 billion or face legal action over what she described as a failed marriage promise linked to the end of an alleged nine year relationship.

She accused him of causing emotional, reputational and psychological harm.
