Actor Chiwetalu Agu has announced plans to celebrate his 70th birthday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The 69-year-old shared the news on Instagram on Friday, inviting fans, colleagues and Nollywood enthusiasts to join him for the occasion.
He captioned the post:
“I will be 70 on the 5th of March, 2026. Glory be to God, Amen!Birthday celebration at Desikiok Hotel, Rumuibekwe Estate, Port Harcourt.Come and celebrate with me! For those who will be attending, please send me a direct message.
“Praise be to our Lord and Master Jesus. Amen.”
The birthday celebration is scheduled for March 5 at Desikiok Hotel in the Rumuibekwe Estate area of Port Harcourt.
Born on March 5, 1956, in Enugu State, Chiwetalu is one of Nollywood’s most recognised actors. He is known for his distinctive comic delivery, use of proverbs in indigenous language films and his memorable supporting and lead roles in both traditional and contemporary Nigerian movies.
Over his decades-long career, the actor has featured in more than 150 films and has been a significant influence in Nollywood. In 2012, he won the Best Actor in an Indigenous Movie (Non-English Speaking Language) award at the Nollywood Movie Awards.
Beyond acting, Chiwetalu is also active in gospel music and public speaking, and he continues to engage fans through social media. He is married to Nkechi Agu and has five children.
