Chinwe Owoh lays husband to rest amidst tears

Actress Chinwe Owoh has laid her husband Frank Owoh to rest amid tears in Udi, Enugu State.

Videos shared on Instagram on Saturday showed the heart-wrenching moment Chinwe broke down in tears as her husband’s casket was taken to the burial ground and covered with sand.

The actress, who lost her husband in April, was joined by family, friends and colleagues who came to pay their last respect. Among those spotted at the funeral were actors Bob Manuel Udokwu, Emeka Rollas, Charles Awurum and Nkem Owoh, with the latter being Chinwe’s brother-in-law.

The solemn occasion was filled with emotion as mourners struggled to hold back tears while Chinwe wailed.

Chinwe, fondly called “Mama Chinwe,” is known for playing maternal roles in movies. She began acting professionally in 1999 and gained prominence after her role in the movie Mothering Sunday in 2001.

She has since featured in hundreds of Nollywood movies including Royal Tears, Town in Danger, Sister Faith, Wisdom of the Gods and Mummy Why?

The actress, who hails from Enugu, served as the former chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Enugu State chapter.

Chinwe is a mother and grandmother, but little is known about her children as she has maintained a low profile when it comes to family matters.

Tributes have continued to pour in for the grieving actress as she mourns the loss of her husband.
