Chidi Udengwu has made history as the first-ever Mister Universe Nigeria and will represent the country at the global Mister Universe competition scheduled to hold in the United States later this year.
The law enforcement professional, athlete and model emerged one of the top six finalists at the Misters of Nigeria 2025 grand finale held on May 11 at the MUSON Centre, Lagos.
He was selected from a pool of 21 contestants drawn from different regions across the country.
He was born and raised in the United States to Nigerian immigrant parents from Enugu State.
“I come from a family rooted in purpose and achievement,” he said after his victory.
“My brother, Nnadi, is in the medical field, and my sister, Chika, is an attorney. Their success and the values instilled in us by our parents have always pushed me to strive for more.”
The Misters of Nigeria organisation described his emergence as a pivotal moment for male pageantry in the country.
“Chidi’s emergence as our first Mister Universe Nigeria is a game-changer,” a spokesperson said.
“He embodies everything we believe the modern Nigerian man should represent — courage, intellect, and a deep connection to both his roots and global identity.”
