Grammy-winning Afrobeat star Burna Boy caused a stir during his concert in Colorado on Wednesday after stopping mid-performance to call out a fan and his girlfriend who were asleep in the audience.
Pointing at the duo, he told them, “Bro, I’m not doing no more songs until you take her home. Wallahi, I’m not doing another song until you go home.”
The couple stood up, collected their belongings, and left. Burna Boy then returned to the stage and continued his set.
The moment went viral on social media, with fans expressing mixed reactions.
This isn’t the first time Burna Boy has taken action against fans.
At the 2025 Lagos Countdown concert, a fan who jumped on stage was kicked off after startling the singer, who later said, “Everybody knows my rule about getting on stage and startling me when I’m performing… I got PTSD.”
In Lusaka, Zambia, he also kicked a fan who allegedly tried to steal his ring during a performance.
Born Damini Ogulu, Burna Boy has become a global ambassador of Afrobeat, with hits from albums like African Giant and Love, Damini.
