Bucci Franklin finally addresses rumoured relationship with Sunshine Rosman

Actor Bucci Franklin has finally spoken on his alleged relationship with his colleague Sunshine Rosman.

The speculation began last year when both actors, who starred in AY Makun’s film The Waiter, shared a kiss on stage at the premiere.

Bucci had ended a speech with, “Thank you so much Sunshine for being my sunshine,” before AY jokingly urged them to kiss. The pair obliged, leaving fans convinced they were more than friends.

In a chat with Chude Jideonwo, Bucci dismissed the claim.

“Confirmed from where? I didn’t get that memo. There was a kiss because we were both an item in the film,” he said.

When asked if he was confirming or denying a relationship, the actor replied, “I’d say I am her biggest fan and I enjoy sharing the screen with her. She is part Nigerian. I look forward to creating more cinematic memories with her.”

Bucci and Sunshine recently reunited in Kemi Adetiba’s Netflix crime thriller To Kill a Monkey where he played Oboz and she starred as Amanda ‘Sparkles’.

Away from the rumour, Bucci reflected on how participating in church drama during his formative years laid the foundation for both his career and spiritual journey.

“I started from church. In my formative years, I was attending ECWA. Imagine being the only teenager in the men’s fellowship drama group, performing with men in their 50s right there on the pulpit where baptisms were held,” he said.

He added, “When I think about my experience as a child growing up and having different encounters with my Heavenly Father as regards my job, I know. I don’t need a soothsayer or somebody with a silver tongue. I know.”
