Bringing Ajosepo 2 to life felt almost impossible – Kayode Kasum

Kayode Kasum

Film director Kayode Kasum has shared new images from the set of Ajosepo 2 as production on the movie wrapped up.

The follow‑up to his 2024 comedy‑drama was shot at Kunle Afolayan’s Kap Film Village in Ogun State.

On his Instagram page on Tuesday, Kasum posted several pictures from the set and wrote about the experience. He said bringing the project to life “felt almost impossible” because of the busy schedules of everyone involved. He noted that his positive mindset helped him find solutions during difficult moments.

Kasum wrote, “Bringing this project to life felt almost impossible. The schedules of everyone involved alone could have broken it. But one thing about me. I always choose to see the positives, even when my back is against the wall. That mindset is what helps me find solutions, no matter how tight things get.”

He added that making a film is a collaborative effort and thanked the cast and crew for their work.

Kasum wrote: “And the truth is, one man can’t do it. We did this together. Just like the first one. AJOSEPO ni.”

The director described the production environment at Kap Film Village as supportive, saying: “@kapfilmvillageandresort honestly felt like a work vacation. Everyone was well fed, well rested, and able to give their best. Thank you to the Idolo, @kunleafo. God bless your heart.”

He thanked the actors for their commitment, writing:
“And to my actors… thank you for showing up, for trusting the process, for giving yourselves fully to these characters. You didn’t just play roles, you brought this family to life. I’m grateful for every one of you.”

Kasum closed his message with a note on what audiences can expect, saying:
“We made this together. AJOSEPO 2 is coming to big screens soon. The cast is bigger, the chaos is bigger, and yes, it’s funnier.”

Ajosepo 2 follows the 2024 film Ajosepo, which was released on April 10, 2024. The first film tells the story of Dapo and Tani, a young couple preparing for their wedding, with family tensions and hidden secrets unfolding during the celebrations.

It starred Mike Afolarin, Tomike Adeoye, Timini Egbuson, Yemi Solade, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Bisola Aiyeola, Mercy Aigbe, Muyiwa Ademola and Deyemi Okanlawon, among others.
