The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) will hold a stakeholder forum with contractors, consultants and other actors in the public procurement sector in Lagos on Thursday, February 26.
A statement issued by the bureau’s head of press and public relations Zira Nagga said the meeting will take place at Sheraton Hotels, Ikeja.
Support for the forum is provided by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the Partnership for Agile Governance and Climate Engagement. Focus will be on the Methodology for Assessing Procurement Systems framework and its role in strengthening public procurement in Nigeria.
According to the Dr Adebowale Adedokun-led bureau, the objective of the meeting is to engage contractors, consultants, service providers and civil society organisations in discussions on the MAPS framework and its benefits for Nigeria’s procurement system.
Participants will also have the opportunity to offer feedback on the development of a National Procurement Strategy and help align procurement reforms with the roles of stakeholders in the system.
Expected participants include representatives of government institutions, private sector operators, professional bodies, civil society organisations and development partners involved in procurement oversight, advocacy and service delivery.
