Filmmaker Bolaji Ogunmola’s produced film Ajosepo 2: The Gathering has crossed the N100 million mark at the Nigerian box office, becoming the seventh Nollywood title of 2026 to reach the milestone.
Distribution company FilmOne announced the development on Tuesday on Instagram, sharing a poster of the film and thanking audiences for their support.
The post read, “An outstanding Box Office Performance 🔥🔥🔥 Thank you West Africa for showing up to witness this unmatched drama. Ajosepo (The Gathering) grosses a whooping #101.4M in the box office, making it the 7th Nollywood film of 2026 to cross the 100 Million mark. Thank you for showing up and let’s keep spreading the word. Ajosepo (The Gathering) is showing in Cinemas Nationwide. Distributed by @filmoneng.”
The achievement places Ajosepo 2: The Gathering among a select group of Nollywood titles that have grossed more than N100 million this year. The other films are Love and New Notes, Call of My Life, Onobiren, Mothers Love, Efunroye and The Return of Arinzo.
Released on May 28, Ajosepo 2: The Gathering enjoyed a strong start at the box office, opening with ₦49.1 million and ranking among the top performing films during its debut weekend.
The film continues the story from Ajosepo, which was released in April 2024 and followed the events leading up to a chaotic family wedding filled with secrets, tensions and emotional conflicts.
The sequel, Ajosepo 2: The Gathering, returns to the theme of family gatherings and weddings, with new complications and unresolved issues resurfacing during another major ceremony.
The first instalment featured actors including Timini Egbuson, Mike Afolarin, Tomike Adeoye, Mercy Aigbe and Ronke Oshodi Oke, while the sequel also features cast members such as Bolaji Ogunmola, Timini Egbuson, Mike Afolarin, Tomike Adeoye, Toyin Abraham, Mercy Aigbe and Odunlade Adekola. The film is directed by Kayode Kasum.
