Lead pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre Bolaji Idowu has showed up at the venue of the Gino World Jollof Festival in Lagos to support celebrity chef Hilda Baci as she makes another Guinness World Record attempt.
In a video shared online on Friday, Pastor Idowu was seen speaking words of encouragement to Hilda and giving her a hug, which left her teary.
Hilda is attempting to cook the world’s largest pot of jollof rice at the Gino World Jollof Festival holding at Eko Hotel Car Park B, Lagos.
The event, earlier scheduled for Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, is expected to host over 20,000 registered attendees.
To set the record, Hilda is using a custom pot with a capacity of 22,619 litres, aiming to fill it up to 80 percent with about 250 bags of rice.
In May 2023, Hilda cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes to claim the Guinness World Record for the longest individual cooking marathon.
The feat was later surpassed by Irish chef Alan Fisher, who cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes.
