Controversial social media personality Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, is facing calls for her arrest after raising N13 million from her recent claim that she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
In an interview with online personality Egungun, Blessing doubled down on her claim, even as many Nigerians continue to question its authenticity.
During the interview, Blessing CEO said her decision to seek public donations was due to what she described as “a miscommunication,” adding that she was unapologetic about her actions.
Meanwhile, several social media users have demanded that she apologise and refund the donations. A user on X, Nkem4eva, tweeted, “I hope @ PoliceNG_CRU take this up. This is fraudulent.”
RIA OF IBADAN wrote, “Her body language, her emotional flex, her humanity crumbled immediately the doctor exposed the truth about her case. This is a criminal case and should be treated as one. Use her as a worthy sample and you will save social media and the influencing community from this virus spreading. Dear @ PoliceNG pick her up and deliver duly what is necessary on this case. Thank you.”
Another user, Jagaban Baby, added, “If not that God is very forgiving, this Blessing CEO girl should experience worse than this cancer she claimed she has. I hope she’s eventually arrested for this rubbish.”
As of the time of filing this report, Blessing CEO had deactivated her Instagram page.
The controversy began after Blessing publicly announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and appealed for financial support for treatment. The announcement drew sympathy from followers, many of whom contributed to a fundraising effort that reportedly generated about N13 million.
However, the claim later came under scrutiny after a medical professional alleged that her diagnosis had been misrepresented, sparking widespread debate online. Critics have since questioned the legitimacy of the fundraiser, while supporters await further clarification from Blessing on the status of her health and the donations received.
