Actress and Big Brother Naija alumna Bisola Aiyeola got emotional on Thursday as she celebrated her daughter’s 16th birthday.
The proud mother took to Instagram on Thursday to share photos of her daughter, expressing gratitude for God’s kindness to her family and reflecting on how fast time has passed.
“My princess is 16 today, Fam, and yes, guys, I’m emotional. God has truly been good and kind to me and my family,” she wrote.
“I can’t believe my baby is so grown, guys, and yes, she’s finally gotten her phone. You people should tell me thank you oooo.”
The single mum of one also teased fans about sharing a special moment when she presented the gift to her daughter.
“Would you like to see the video where I presented her with the phone? Oya, beg me, and I’ll share it and maybe share her Instagram handle, too,” she added.
Bisola has been vocal in the past about her strict parenting approach. In a 2024 interview with fellow reality star Maria Chike, she explained why she barred her daughter from owning a mobile phone before turning 16. According to her, critics often labelled her overly protective, but she remained firm.
She also recalled having to discipline her daughter after discovering she had secretly opened a smart chat account. “I caught her, and I disciplined her. I just want her to be a child for as long as possible,” Bisola said at the time.
In another interview, the Sugar Rush actress opened up about her teenage pregnancy and how her mother stood by her. She revealed that while her mother was sad upon hearing the news, she kept her promise to support her through the journey.
Bisola welcomed her daughter in 2008 and has since balanced her acting career with motherhood. The identity of her daughter’s father has remained private.
