Actress Biola Bayo has taken down her interview with actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, professionally known as Baba Ijesha, from her YouTube channel and hidden it on her Instagram reels following heavy criticism online.
In the interview, Baba Ijesha addressed the rape allegations against him, insisting he is neither a pedophile nor a rapist. He described parts of the incident as a “setup” and said he felt misunderstood. He also suggested that aspects of the 2021 case were related to “movie preparation,” a claim that sparked outrage online.
He further accused comedian Princess of betrayal and expressed disappointment with actress Iyabo Ojo, saying he had cared for her children when they were younger and was hurt that she doubted him.
The backlash to the interview was swift, with many social media users criticising both Baba Ijesha and Biola Adebayo for giving him a platform. In response, Bayo removed the video from her public channels.
Baba Ijesha was convicted in 2021 for sexual assault involving a minor and served a prison sentence. Iyabo Ojo and other industry figures have been vocal in supporting justice for the victim. Iyabo Ojo has also publicly warned Baba Ijesha against making false claims involving her family, stating she will take legal action if necessary.
