Actress Biola Adebayo has responded to a resurfaced allegation made by beauty entrepreneur Ademola Adeyemi, popularly known as Diiadem, who recently recounted being treated rudely by the actress on a movie set about 16 years ago.

In a new interview with Olalekan Fabilola, Biola addressed the claim that she asked the then-teenage Diiadem to clean her shoes in a demeaning tone.

“I thought it was a joke. Later, I thought 16 years ago, she would probably be around 15/16/17 and I would probably be in my late 20s. I can ask you to help me clean my shoes then. It’s not a bad thing. She took it the wrong way and said it traumatized her. Even if I asked you to help me clean shoes, there’s no way I would have said it rudely. I can never say that. It’s not a crime. If you are older than me, you can send me on an errand,” she said.

Recall that Diiadem had accused Biola last month of being “super nasty” to her on set around 2009/2010, saying the issue was not the act itself but “how you talk to people.”

“She was super nasty to me, it’s not even about cleaning someone’s shoes, it’s about how you talk to people. It costs nothing to treat people with kindness,” she said.

Diiadem added that seeing Biola’s recent content about not being able to afford colleagues’ pricey aso ebi triggered the old memory. She claimed Biola laughed when she mentioned the incident online.

She noted she was not seeking attention but stressing the need for accountability.
