Actress Biola Adebayo attended the premiere of Return of Arinze, a film by Iyabo Ojo, despite recent tensions between the two women over a controversial interview.
Biola had faced criticism after hosting a conversation with convicted actor Baba Ijesha on her show Talk to B. Many viewers said the interview appeared to present him in a sympathetic light following his conviction for sexual assault.
In the podcast, Baba Ijesha made comments about Iyabo’s personal life, including a claim that she once entrusted her children to him. Iyabo publicly rejected the remark, describing it as false and misleading and warned the actor not to involve her children again or face possible legal action.
The backlash led to reports that Iyabo unfollowed Biola on Instagram. However, Biola’s invitation to the premiere was not withdrawn and she attended the event. Iyabo is now following her again on the platform.
Biola had earlier issued a public apology over the interview and deleted the video from her channels.
Baba Ijesha was convicted in 2022 by an Ikeja Special Offences Court for sexual assault involving a minor and sentenced to imprisonment. The case drew widespread public attention, with several actors including Iyabo Ojo actively demanding justice at the time.
