Actress Bimbo Ademoye has announced that her movie To Be a Friend (T.B.A.F) has been removed from YouTube due to copyright issues.
The 34-year-old broke the news in an Instagram post on Tuesday, revealing that the film had garnered nearly six million views before it was taken down.
Sharing a video of herself, Bimbo said this was not the kind of message she would have loved to share but that “life happens.”
“Yea, To Be A Friend is no longer on the YouTube channel, it’s sad but life goes on. We had a bit of situation with copyright issues with sound. No, we didn’t go through back doors and yes we picked the right channel but it is what it is.
“Yea, I wish I can explain more but sadly I can’t. I probably eventually will but not now. So it’s no longer on the YouTube channel but please please please we might have to re-upload which means we might have to start all over again from the beginning. It’s almost at six million views but, it is what it is,” she said.
Bimbo appealed to her fans to support the project once it is re-uploaded.
“If we reupload and start from where we stopped, which is picking up from the 6 million views, I will appreciate if you watch, like, share, subscribe and if we have to start all over again, I will super duper appreciate it if you share to your friends, family, post on your page, story, anywhere just to help support this girl because I can’t do it without you.
“And yea I don’t really know what to say, the movie is down and we are going to be back soon. Let’s see how it goes. Are we going to get six million views? I don’t know. Are we going to get over six million views? I don’t know but God is God, he sits upon his throne and watches over us.
“Thank you very much for loving and supporting me. No distractions can ever break us.”
She captioned the post, “Not easily broken.”
To Be a Friend was released in July and featured Bimbo Ademoye, Uzor Arukwe, Deyemi Okanlawon and Kunle Remi.
The movie, directed by Great Val Edochie, was first uploaded on her YouTube channel BimboAdemoyeTV, where it gained popularity before its takedown.
