Billionaire businessman and chairman of the Ibru Organisation Oskar Ibru has died at the age of 67.
His family announced that he died after a brief illness but did not provide further details.
Mr Ibru, was one of the heirs of the Ibru dynasty founded by his late father, Michael Ibru, who died in 2016.
He played a key role in sustaining and expanding the family conglomerate with interests in shipping, oil and gas, real estate and commerce.
Under his leadership, the group maintained its place in Nigeria’s corporate sector while also supporting philanthropic and cultural activities.
His death comes years after the loss of other prominent members of the family, including the patriarch Michael Ibru.
Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family in the coming days.
