Actor Linc Edochie has broken his silence following the backlash that trailed the release of May Edochie’s phone number online by his US-based partner Yinka Theisen.
Linc, who is the elder brother of controversial actor Yul Edochie, took to Instagram on Monday to clarify that he does not support the breach of privacy involving May, the estranged wife of his brother.
“I usually don’t make careless speeches but I want to set the record straight. I am a man of peace and value my sanity. For the records, I did not endorse the recent attacks on May neither did I endorse posting her number online which has triggered meaningless retaliation,” he wrote.
“We may not all agree with each other but we can respect one another… Better to be alone and at peace than to be in a union filled with landmines. Respect.”
He ended the post with a caption that read, “Let it all end…”
His reaction came hours after he unfollowed Yinka Theisen on Instagram, sparking speculation that the ongoing family controversy has affected their relationship.
Over the weekend, Yinka had taken to Instagram to post a screenshot revealing May Edochie’s contact details.
In a caption accompanying the post, she accused May of distributing her own phone number to fans, which she claimed justified her retaliation.
“You distributed my number so there!!” Yinka wrote alongside the screenshot displaying May’s number.
The action was widely condemned across social media as a breach of privacy, with many users criticising Yinka for escalating the ongoing Edochie family drama.
Earlier in June, Linc had unfollowed May, who at the time was still following him, before she reciprocated days later.
Yul and May were married for nearly two decades before their marriage hit the rocks in 2022 after Yul introduced actress Judy Austin as his second wife. The controversial move led to widespread backlash and strained relations within the Edochie family.
