Tega BBNaija

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has appointed Big Brother Naija star Tega Dominic as special adviser on sexual harassment to the Guild’s national president.

The appointment was announced in a letter shared by Tega on her verified Instagram account. The letter said she was chosen for her “professional competence, sound judgment, and extensive experience”. It added that her role is to help promote professionalism and respect within the association.

According to the letter, the special adviser on sexual harassment will develop and implement policies to protect AGN members from harassment. She will advise the presidency on preventing sexual harassment and establish systems for reporting, investigating, and resolving incidents within the Guild.

The letter also noted that the role is “critical in fostering a culture of respect, accountability, and professional integrity” and that the appointment could be terminated if she violates the AGN constitution through insubordination, disobedience, or indiscipline.

Reacting to the appointment, Tega said she was honoured and grateful. She wrote:

“Honoured and deeply grateful to accept my appointment as Special Adviser on Sexual Harassment to the President, Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN). Thank you for the trust and confidence reposed in me. This is a call to serve with integrity, courage, and compassion.”

She added that her focus will be on zero tolerance for sexual harassment, safe and confidential reporting systems, and support for survivors. She also mentioned plans for education, awareness, and accountability to make the industry “a place where talent thrives without fear, and dignity is never compromised”.

The Actors Guild of Nigeria represents screen actors in Nigeria’s film and television sector. The Guild has a national executive council and a president’s cabinet with advisers and directors responsible for governance and member welfare.

This appointment is part of AGN’s ongoing efforts to strengthen policies and support systems aimed at addressing harassment and improving professional standards in the industry.
